Soothe your throat, calm irritation, and discover one of nature’s most comforting herbs!
Marshmallow root is rich in mucilage, a naturally occurring substance that becomes thick and slippery when mixed with water. This creates a soothing, protective coating that helps comfort dry, scratchy throats, calm occasional coughs, and support the digestive tract.
Benefits of Marshmallow Root:
Throat Support: Coats and soothes dry, scratchy, irritated throats.
Cough Comfort: Helps calm the irritation associated with dry, tickly coughs.
Digestive Support: Its mucilage helps soothe irritated tissues throughout the digestive tract.
Gentle Hydration: Creates a silky, moisture-rich infusion that comforts dry mucous membranes.
How to Make a Cold Infusion
Marshmallow root is best prepared as a cold infusion to extract its soothing mucilage.
Add 1–2 tablespoons of dried marshmallow root to 8–12 oz of cool or room-temperature water.
Cover and let infuse for 4–8 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
Strain and enjoy! The finished infusion should have a slightly thick, silky texture.
Enjoy on its own, mix with juice, or combine with your favorite herbal tea.
Pair It With Our Throat Soother Tea!
Marshmallow root is Part 2 of our two-part Throat Soother system. Prepare your Throat Soother Tea separately using hot water, then combine it with your marshmallow root cold infusion once the tea has cooled to warm. Together, they create an extra-soothing herbal drink for irritated throats.
